Janakalyan Pratishtan have been managing Community radio named Radio Janavani -90.8MHz since October 2017 . Radio Janavani 90.8 is the only community Radio in Gajapati District. Its located at Sivanda nagar ,Parlakhemundi, Gajapati Dist. Radio Janavani aims at highlighting the voice of poorest of poor on the problems faced by them through broadcasting ,so as to bring solutions to their issues on Health ,Nutrition,Agriculture, Livelihood ,Other Social Issues,Child Marriage ,Drinking Water , Migrant Labour in the area, This is designated for Gasani Block,However this is covering major part of Gosani,part of Gumma and Kashinagar Blocks . The station is covering 15 kms radius on Ariel way . Major activities are narrow casting , Interview at community level and with officials, Group discussion and Awareness programmes through songs,stories and drama.
Two days training to MPA level staff, WCD, Health personnel and NGO staff of OPELIP (30 participants) on Jivan Sampark initiatives and provisions of government schemes related to child survival and Sanitation
2 days Training to AWW and ASHA from target area on IYCF, Maternal nutrition and hygiene & sanitation :75 participants)- 3 batches
2 days Training to PVTG SHG leaders and GKS members on infant and young child health and nutrition along with dealing practices like child marriage, colostrum feeding and Chenka. :240 participants)- 6 batches (First year and 3rd year)
2 days Training for community level stakeholders - Adolescent girls, youth and traditional healers on positive health, nutrition and hygiene behaviours on maternal, infant and young child health and nutrition (200 participants)
Facilitation of VHND and RI sessions - Counselling to mothers and ensure referral.
Facilitation of sector level ICDS and Health reviews.
MPA level launching of Jiban sampark program
Village level awareness meetings and community mobilisation in 35 villages on monthly basis with target communities for first three months.
One day training to MPA level NGO partner staff, block level stakeholders of health and ICDS on IYCF and related maternal nutrition, Sanitation IPC skills, how to use the FFL videos for 40 participants.
One day training for Panchayat functionaries and religious leaders on positive health, nutrition and hygiene behaviours and dealing taboos affecting child survival( 80 participants in two batches )
Staff CB of NGO on providing handholding support services and supporting supervision during VHND, FIDs and Sanitation (40 staff
Strengthening Village institutions i.e. village health and sanitation committee, mothers committee and vigilance committee, SHGs.
Home Visits and counselling by change agents adolescent girls and volunteers
Monthly Staff review and planning meeting with CRPs and quarterly project review with MPA and NGO staff.
